15-year old Special Needs Student Beaten for having shirt untucked; “Face down take down” restraint vs. Ronald Federici’s “Compression Therapy”

Day 596. Survivors found: 8

An institutionalized child abuse case that has recently made headlines:

Partial transcript from news broadcast:

This type of physical restraint has killed students, says Zena Naiditch from Equip for Equality, a legal advocacy group that fights for the rights of people with disabilities.
“It’s called a “face down take down”…and kids often – and adults – die because they can’t breathe.”

This begs the question – if face down restraint can kill an adult, much less a 15-year old kid, imagine what it will do to a small child who has yet to reach adolescence?

One adult taking a child down in this manner would be lethal enough, but two adults?

This is the precisely what Attachment quack and self-proclaimed “adoption expert” Ronald Federici recommends children be subjected to in his “compression therapy.”

Excerpted from Mister Ronald Federici’s execrable, self-published book, Help for the Hopeless Child; click to enlarge.

To add insult to injury, Federici sends crazed, threatening letters to child torture survivors, claiming that his brutal regimen is “NO ABUSE JUST SUCCESS,” despite undeniable evidence to the contrary, including a news broadcast wherein one child patient (who is all of 9 years old) is pinned to the floor under the weight of two large adults as he screams in agony.

In an effort to cover this up, Ronald Federici has filed completely fallacious DMCA complaints, claiming copyright ownership of this footage despite the fact that he owns no rights whatsoever – NBC Broadcasting does.

Also – because the self-proclaimed “Emporer” will likely try to have this posting removed by further abusing the DMCA – here is a lesson in basic copyright law for him and his conspirators.

Many children have been killed in the style that Federici promotes. One of the more stark examples of this epidemic is the death of 7-year old Angellika Arndt.

As a foster child, Angellika was diagnosed with the bogus version of RAD (reactive attachment disorder). She was put into a “control hold” as punishment at a Wisconsin clinic; two staff members held Angellika in a prone position face-down on the floor for over an hour and a half. One of them was a man nearly five times the child’s body weight.

Exactly what behavior warranted this prone restraint that ended Angellika’s life?

Blowing bubbles in her milk and laughing during lunchtime.

She would have been 10 years old today.

Oh my God, Thank GOD you are HERE!
I recently found a blog called, “finishing off my family”, and from there I’ve been astounded.
I’ll be right back to post the other one that has me really worried.
I don’t know if you are religious or not. If not I hope that you’re not offended by my use of praying, but all I can say is that this RAD business is horrific, and again, Thank-God that someone is taking these people on.
They beat me up recently on the finishing-off my family blog and I expect that they close-ranks whenever someone expresses horror at what they are doing.
It kills me that they post this stuff online and get support for what they do when they should be ashamed.

The other blog that disturbs me is “Watching the waters”.
They have a ten year old in home “boot camp” and they referr all complaints to Dr. Federici.
(a doctor said to do it so its ok).
Another of their children is being given-away online because he played doctor when he was 5 or 6 and they went overboard like it was the crime of the century.
(I thought they liked doctors-ha ha)
But it really isn’t funny what’s going on.

    But-this woman, http://watchingthewaters.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/official-evaluation/#comment-1674
    Is using this doctor Federici!
And she will not allow a ten y-old to go to school, but has her in home bootcamp!!
    Can anybody HELP??
I felt sooo powerless after being shouted down and banned at attachment parents blogs.
It HORRIFIES me that they blog, (violation of privacy, HIPAA laws, and other laws…), the abuse crap online, publicly, and only accept praise & support.
I got beat-up and banned on “finishing off my family”, and when I read the waters’ blog, I felt DEFEATED to help.
Now I feel better, but want to do more.
    Thank-you for the LIST!

OK, here is a copy of the complaint that I filled-out at the UN website (UNHCR-IGO online). Angelina Jolie is the Ambassador there. I don’t know if JOLIE is REALLY involved with this “DR”, or not, but at the end of my complaint are links to sites that say that “DR” Federici is associated with this evil person.
I HOPE that she really is NOT involved with this guy, because i fear for her children if she is.
    (copied complaint)
I have copied from the internet. The man who calls himself Dr. Federici, is not a doctor.
He associates himself with Angelina Jolie to establish credibility for his methods. His methods, are CRUEL and UNUSUAL treatment of children who have been adopted.
The children that he himself adopted have reported torture & abuse.
All you have to do is Google, Federici + Jolie”, and you will see this man using Angelina Jolie’s name and fame to give himself credibility.
Right now, there is a woman who has adopted six children from HATI.
Her blog is called, “watching the waters”.
She is trying to GIVE one of those children away online, AND another is being held PRISONER in her home, in the USA.
“DR”-(who does not have a valid license remember)” Federici, is the doctor who that woman uses to “help” her with her children’s “problems”.
There is so much more, but PLEASE can you HELP these kids??
If you do that Google© search and see how this man is USING JOLIE for his evil torture of children, (yes, he is the one who posts the FALSE (i hope) info. that he is associated with JOLIE.
If JOLIE IS God-Forbid, associated with this demon, you better investigate HER!
PLEASE LOOK at what is going-on here!
Now that I know more about it, I will not stop fighting.
I helped Liam Shiff, (not sure about the spelling)the journalist who stopped the experimenting on children by the drug companies, and a few other things that needed to be stopped, so justice will be done.
Its only a matter of time, and I beg you to please HELP me stop this!(copied below is some stuff that mentions JOLIE & this DR.)(copied from angelina jolie blog)
Dr. Federici is licensed by the Virginia Board, and is the holder of a Psy. D. degree.

Dr. Ronald Federici is the author of “Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families, With Special Discussion for Assessing and Treating the Post-Institutionalized Child” and is the founder of Neuropsychological and Family Practice Associates, in McLean, Virginia.

He has worked with adopted children from Russia, Romania, Ukraine and Belarus. He is also the father to seven adopted children of his own.

Federici is also an outspoken opponent of dangerous practices, such as those resulting in the death of Candace Newmaker. In addition, he has also sought to provide as much assistance as possible to children living in orphanages and other institutions with deplorable conditions.

KEEP up the good work! I can see that it has been a long hard struggle for survivors and others who are trying to help.

a mother – that is the reason I only lurk in those places. I’m just as horrified but I know those people probably won’t change.

That blog you mention is here – http://tudusamom.blogspot.com/

It appears some of the kids have legitimate conditions, which any fake “RAD” treatment would only make worse.

That “Watching the Waters” blog has a ten year old writing lines that include “My family is perfect for me.” Really? Your family is perfect? I suspect if you think that the kid’s not the one with the problem.

Also, from the disrupted adoption kid, I wonder if his behavior issues are from the parents freaking out over his actions playing doctor. Now, if he really has been abused like that, he didn’t mean anything by it other than copying what he’s seen. But if the parents decided that it meant he was a future child molester…
