subject: Legal Action Pending
mailed-by: aol.comDear Ms WaywardRadish and your Friends:
Please be advised that all of us have retained legal counsel to put an end to your slanderous, defaming and malicious postings. It is illegal and tragic that you have forged a one-sided attack on me and others without knowing the facts. Just the facts the way you see them.
You live in your own world of slander and distortions and belief of fragments and heresay. This is just not permitted under the law.
Please get your checkbook out, because this will cost all of you when the federal injunctions ordering cease and desist and damages are filed.
We welcome Mercer, Sarner, Rosa, JT, and the rest in court as the fact witnesses and case will be presented state by state. Ms Mercer sits around all day and writes about everyone. I wish she, and the rest like Sarner and Rosa would get off their lazy rears and actually do some work in other countries, foster care, or a hospital with damaged kids. NONE of them have even evaluated a patient, as they are NOT qualified. They are just self-qualified to be slanderous.
Too bad, all you had to do was open up a respectful forum for conversation vs. heresay gossip, fabrications, misleading statements . We expected this behaviors from ACT/Mercer and her “group” who have never set foot in an orphanage, patient care situation, or done anything but write nasy comments. I would have been more than happy to talk to anyone, and even help stop the real problems, as I have done done 24 years without a complaint.
Also, very sad that you would involve my daughter who has a lifetime of problems, that the entire family and friends know. AND will attest to, as they told me they tried to reason in their postings but were shot down by your hostilities. Just ask Elena if she wants all the family and friends and teachers and therapists and evaluators to really step up and tell the truth and her life. We have all put out 110% to help her, despite her claims. BUT you believe what you want to hear that is sensational and defamilg. ALL that has a big price to it, as freedom of speech stops when good people get hurt.
I have spent 25 years helping, and have the clean record to proove it. Find something that sticks against me (doubtful, as it does not exists). If not, be fair and reasonable and humane people and open a forum to address the real problems–the ones I have also fought againsts ( like you all), for years.
DateLine show won an award for journalism , and all the people behind it were happy of a story of hope recovery . No abuse. Just a success. Ask the family, and the 1000’s of others who really know me. You do not know me. FYI–the kid on the show thought an “emporer” was a leader or teacher. I would never call myself anything but a professional and worker. Taking bits and pieces and drawing conclusions is a sign of real ignorance.
While I am a patient man, my limits are about done as you have done some egregious things on this internet. I know all of your names, and could post what I know about your personal and family issues of atheism, scientology, handicaps, depression, mental health issues, sexuality, etc. I have NOT posted a word in rebuttal. NOT ONE. And no, the other posts were not me, but people who know me and my family for 20+ years. Not transient, but real, good people. Tons wanted to write more, but you people only allow your friends who are all hostile so they stopped.
I am very glad to have my State Board behind me, as they know me and my unblemished record. They welcome your complaints. They have ALL my qualification on file, or I could not practice.
[There are so many inconsistencies, falsehoods and inanities that merit emphasis in this missive, but for now, we'll just point out that Federici's license expires this summer.

You will do what you believe to be right, and I will do the same in a more corrective manner, and by the law. NOT by your type of “judgements”, without true facts.
Maybe you will think about it. Maybe you will continue your damage. I will survive either way, as real and decent people know me for more than 20 years. Just think about what your true motives are. ALL our lawyers see angry and irrational people. Too bad, as I actually agree with a lot of what you are saying and doing, just like my colleagues whom you have also defamed.
You are missing out on a way to actually have a better, decent and professional united front to help kids.
Dr Ron Federici ( you can call me at the office anytime if you can talk respectfully)
Let’s get this straight, Mister Federici — aside from all the personal threats you’ve issued, are you calling us queer, crippled, retarded, Scientologist heathens?
…
Okay.
As for everyone else who’s reading this:
what you can do to help.
Good night, and good luck.

Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 08:10 ¶hey, maybe we can get Tom Cruise to help now…
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 11:25 ¶he got his daughter’s comments shut down….
:(
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 11:27 ¶I love how he so obviously hasn’t seen a lawyer (he’s probably too cheap), or even consulted a dictionary.
How on Earth did this man get any sort of qualification when he’s barely literate? You think he’d be able to spell his preferred title, at least.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 13:57 ¶Laura:
More like desperate and near destitute. From what we hear, Federici’s practice is all but gone. I’d say he’s frothing at the mouth like a rabid animal, but that would be an insult to animals, rabies or no.
For some reason, many Attachment quacks are idiots when it comes to reading comprehension and grammar. Perhaps the “learning lags” and “speech impediments” they throw in with their bogus “RAD” criteria are projective identification. Cretins.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 14:35 ¶His adoptive daughter’s comments may still be viewed at child advocacy organization PPL:

Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 14:36 ¶Just a comment about Federici’s remarks: I trust he remembers the response he received from my lawyer with respect to his letters several years ago. I have no doubt that he remembers the advice he received from DHP about the accuracy of information on his web site. His fulminations posted above, along with letters I and other people have been receiving for some time in the past, will be of interest in court, I am sure–should he ever follow through on the plans he alludes to.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 15:40 ¶I am sure his daughter must be pretty upset though if she knows the other blog has been shut down…
I hope she knows people still believe her and are out there to support her in any way they can…
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 17:38 ¶The man always seems to get his way, by some means or another, at least on the Internet when the corporate types get involved. I don’t know, of course, why the blog had been taken down, but it’s unfortunate. Another victory for the bad guys.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 18:32 ¶who is the JT he mentions ?
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 18:33 ¶The blog actually wasn’t taken down by the bad guys this time, it wasn’t even hit with a DMCA notice. Rather, the maintainer deleted it of her own volition.
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 18:34 ¶LoL! Anyone who has actually “retained legal counsel” would have their “legal counsel” send the threatening letters rather than send it from their aol email.
Aside from that, if his “therapy” is so great, it should stand on its own and the critcism would not harm its standing. Perhaps even he doesn’t believe his therapy is worth the crock it’s cooked up in.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 19:15 ¶My opinions on this subject:
Federici really likes the phrase “Please get your checkbook out…” I think this is the third time I’ve seen him use it.
But then again, Federici does appear to be a person of habit. And not only in sending out threatening letters.
For years he has promoted an insanely dangerous prone restraint for children. This must be absolute torture for children! Despite criticism — and apparently without making the slightest effort to research the issue — his restraint method again appeared in the second edition of his (self-published) book. There is plenty of condemnation about prone restraint anywhere you look.
A professional would never write a letter like we see above.
Federici is, indeed, his own worst enemy, opening himself up to humiliation a la Freshman English (see keen and amusing commentary by “copperbadge” and others at: http://waywardradish.livejournal.com/29543.html
Court is really the last place Federici wants to be. And I can’t imagine a lawyer who would want him as a client. Note that the above letter by Federici was cc’ed to a law firm (WadykaS@gtlaw.com). I can just picture some lawyer there pulling his/her hair out reading Federici’s illiterate, threatening rant.
For my part, I would relish the opportunity to counter-sue.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 19:39 ¶Lawyers take anybody as a client. Its their job. If you were fussy about your clients you wouldn’t be a lawyer. They don’t have to believe anything their client says or like them at all. But I digress.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 21:25 ¶I like his word “heresay”, though. It has an ecclesiastical flavor, a touch of someone firing up the stake to char-broil a few opponents.
Or perhaps he’s been writing for “I can has cheezburger”– but I can’t “proove” that.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 21:46 ¶“Heresay” is when instead of saying “God does not exist” you say “Fred says God does not exist”.
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 21:52 ¶Good one, Fainites!
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 22:09 ¶Federici claiming to be fluent in five languages makes me bust out in laughter. “True facts.”
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 22:31 ¶How can he tell?
Posted 02 Mar 2009 at 22:39 ¶@Jean: you referenced LOLcats. You are officially the coolest Ivory Tower egghead ever.
@Linda: Federici really likes the phrase “Please get your checkbook out…” I think this is the third time I’ve seen him use it.
Yeah, well, he doesn’t strike one as the most creative thinker.
Agreed. If ol’ “3 feet” Federici takes this to court (assuming he can afford real, actual counsel), he’ll only be shooting himself in the foot. What a chump.
@lurker: Perhaps even he doesn’t believe his therapy is worth the crock it’s cooked up in.
Posted 03 Mar 2009 at 04:50 ¶HA! Great point. You may very well be right!
I’m very glad you posted this letter, WR. Months later, as you know Jean Mercer, Larry Sarner and I have been the target of libelous and defamatory postings to over 189 newsgroups as well as ads being run on Craigslist, Backpage and anywhere else they can think of, as well as blogs. Here is the latest one:
http://miami.indymedia.org/news/2009/07/13490.php
and if you check out the newsgroup alt.religion.scientology, there are a number of postings. Some of the regulars there are very upset with him.
Anyway, the reason I say I ‘m glad you posted the letter is that today, Federici e-mailed my Dean and told him all kinds of lies about me. Thankfully, I have this letter that shows intent, as well as all the ads that have been being run about me and I’m not in any kind of trouble at all. My Dean was very understanding about the whole issue.
